When I taught 6th grade Science, they were required to learn the phases of the Moon. I must admit, it's not the easiest concept for anyone to memorize. Here they are, we should all learn them, in my opinion.

I am into astronomy & have a folder of the constellations, stars, how to pronounce. I then made a way for me to remember the Moon Phases that fit my own life. I feel when we do it that way, we retain the knowledge better.

Super! And yes, I agree when one makes a way for themself to remember things like Moon Phases, then it's easier for them to retain the knowledge!
The way I remember the phases is that the moon always swipes its light, or darkness, from right to left. There are only quarter moons, crescents, and gibbous. So if the moon is swiping its light from right to left it is in waxing phases and if it swipes its darkness from right to left its in waning phases.
