I'm here because - well, why not?
As a child there wasn't much encouragement to explore nature, and then for a couple of decades I was just so busy with "life". But for the last 20 years I've had a growing interest in the natural world - primarily my own, local natural world - and that dovetails nicely with my enthusiasm for photography.

Welcome!
As a child, my father took me deer hunting and turkey hunting a lot. I spent many hours in the woods waiting on a deer or turkey - and trying to call the Gobblers when I heard them gobble. Turkeys are one of the hardest animals to hunt, in my opinion - they can see color and slight movements and one has to be completely in camo and generally sitting against a wide tree to hide your human outline. As I waited for deer and turkey I observed other creatures - things like foxes, hawks, owls, etc....
But it's never to late to have an interest in nature. I don't think it's ever too late for someone to do anything - that's why at age 52 I'm looking into getting my Doctorate degree (online).
I'm a Pentaxian, and you probably are too. Most of my photos are not of people, but are things in nature (my photos are at flickr.com/photos/piziak/). Do you have photos online that we can view?
Again, welcome
Michael Piziak
